Eligibility

To be eligible for bond, the person must:

• Not be subject to mandatory detention
• Not be a flight risk
• Not be a danger to society

Cost

Legal fees: $2,000-$3,000 depending on the person’s criminal history

Process

1. The attorney submits a motion for bond and supporting documents to the Immigration Court

2. There is a bond hearing

3. If the bond is granted, the person can have a friend or family member pay the bond with an Enforcement and Removal Operations office.
